Patience is a Virtue

patience

It has been said, “Patience and Fortitude conquer all things” – Ralph Waldo Emerson. In this world of fast paced thinking and immediate wants, it is important to focus on the importance of the trait of Patience. We need to have patience in this impatient world to set ourselves apart from those that know nothing of the discipline. Think of all the things that happen in an unfavorable way when we aren’t patient. When you aren’t patient and explode with people, you are quick to anger and possibly sever relationships that should still be there. If you aren’t patient waiting for an outcome, sometimes you may try to ‘make it happen’ and it never happens at all. When you are patient for the right relationship with the opposite sex, your life turns into a nightmare of dating, makeups and breakups because you haven’t found “the one”.

Patience brings Peace

It has been said time and time again that Patience is a virtue. What just does that statement mean? In my opinion, it means living in harmony with your spirit and translated through your physical actions in dealing with outside forces. The dictionary meaning of patience is “quiet, steady perseverance; even-tempered care; diligence: to work with patience. When we live in perfect harmony and practice patience daily, we reap the rewards associated with one who is patient. Only then, can we realize a peace within us as our mind and body are in sync.

Patience is more than just a Trait

Having patience also allows you to stay healthy because your mind is in tandem with what you want in your life. Ever notice those with very little patience. How do they react to situations? How is their health? Are they always working smarter or harder? There should be no secret that when we have more patience in our lives, we enjoy the benefits of low stress and other healthy benefits. A lack of patience can lead to other disorders such as hypertension (high blood pressure) and even other unwanted health risks such as heart risks and so on. Those with a lot of patience enjoy having a cool headed attitude, a calm demeanor, low anxiety and a host of other rewards. Practice Patience today and watch your behavior affect others for good.
