Invest in Yourself
How many times have you invested time in working for others, put money in things you couldn’t live without, wasted vast amounts of hours in something that didn’t benefit yourself?
Now is the time to invest fully in the most important patron, YOU. If you have ever been laid off, passed off for a promotion or taken advantage of in some way, it’s because you weren’t seen as someone that was indispensable to the person(s) concerned. You need to make the compelling argument in your prospects eyes that you are the expert that they cannot do without. You’ve got to become somewhat of a mini-celebrity that is the go to person or at least respected in your professional life.
Those that do not invest in themselves get left in the dark where others make their decisions for them. It’s a vicious circle allowing others to control your time, life and so forth. So, how do you invest in yourself? You start by increasing your knowledge. You take classes towards a certification, you read more knowledgeable subjects, you collaborate with the right peer group to help get you there. One of the quickest ways to get where you are going is get a great mentor. What qualifies them as a mentor? They usually have a vast amount of knowledge that can be passed on to you where your own skills are lacking. How do you get a mentor? It’s sometimes just as easy as asking someone to be your mentor. Many would give you a portion of your time for free. Some would do it for a modest fee. Others with more credibility as a mentor would cost sometimes as much as tuition in college. However, if it gets you good Return on Investment in yourself then you have come out ahead. Maybe it may lead to a more profitable business, maybe a career change into a more lucrative field or maybe they teach you to live life fully through personal development techniques.
The world is full of opportunities and no one said that you need to stay on the path that you are on now if you aren’t where you want to be. Make a change and get yourself educated and knowledgeable on subjects that you know are in your best interests. Remember success is duplicatable.
