The Faith Leap

Faith is the act of believing in that we see not.  According to Wikipedia, “The act of believing in or accepting something intangible or unprovable, or without empirical evidence[1]. It is an act commonly associated with religious belief as many religions consider faith to be an essential element of piety.”  However, I would like to offer one more idea of what faith is.  It can be thought as a bridge that links the Unknown to an Outcome we would desire to happen.  This is the leap of Faith or Faith Leap.  If there was nothing to bridge the gap between the unknown to what we what feel in our guts could happen, we would not need to have faith.

Faith at first is like a virtual thought, then like a seed that germinates.  When we give it more life and meaning that little seed of faith, becomes something monumental, something real.  Example, have you ever just had a hunch that you know how something would work out and like magic it just did.  Like say, you felt that you would be promoted at a job without any warning and it just happened?

Faith in Real Life

Now that we have covered the fact that you need to have Faith, it’s important that you actually put faith to work throughout your everyday life.  For example, you could have faith that a business deal between you and a potential partner may go through or you could have faith that your relationship will be taken to the next level.  If you are a faithless person or one that is faith challenged, you need to work on this aspect and virtue to be fully successful in your life.  You could have all the qualities in the world, but if you don’t have the faith you need in order to see something into fruition, you have nothing.

Practicing Faith makes your Faith Stronger

Actually having a mindset that you are faithful in all that you do, will actually make your faith stronger over time.  Let’s take for another example, a wishful inventor named Fred. Fred has not the financial being, resources or even potential partners to make him successful.  However, let’s say that Fred has a large degree of Faith in an invention that he can see in his mind’s eye and conjure images of his invention working perfectly.  Fred gives all of his time, all his money and sacrifices much for his invention to be produced.  The odds are not really on Fred’s side but because Fred has such a high degree of Faith, he attracts an invention corporation that loves his idea and backs him financially and eventually produces Fred’s product.  Do you see how important faith can be?  What if Fred only relied on luck that his invention would get produced?  Would he have become successful this way?  It is slightly possible, but not very likely.

When you sprinkle sheer determination and a high degree of faith together, there is almost nothing that your mind cannot conceive.  If you can conceive it, you can achieve.  This is the power of Faith, it’s not just for religious zealots but for all to practice freely.
